REVIEW! Macadamia Natural Oil - Deep Repair Masque
So, before I give you the lowdown of this product, I thought
I would give you a bit of background about my hair. This is just so you know if
I say anything positive/negative about this product, it could just be referring
to the effects of my specific hair type.
I have VERY curly hair, which is a nightmare to tame daily.
Whether it is straightened with GHDs (where I make sure heat protection is used)
or left to naturally dry, I seem to have split ends. I don’t straighten my hair
that much anymore, but did abuse it in my early teens (13-15) which I regret
immensely, and feel the dried-out-ness was un-repairable... Then I caught sight
of the remarkable reviews of this product...
Beauty gurus on YouTube constantly have this product in
their “Beauty Favourites” or “Haircare Routine” videos and rave, rave, rave
about it, to the point where I considered ordering it for full price from an
online store. I decided not to do this as I never really purchase “high end”
hair products and thought the £30 price tag was a little bit expensive, but
then I saw they stocked Macadamia Natural Oil products in TKMaxx, and only had
one of the Deep Repair Masques in stock. I managed to purchase the 500ml size
for £19.99 (Which is cheaper than the 250ml size online!) and read the claims
on the back of the tub…
“Our Macadamia and Argan oils combine with tea tree and
chamomile oils, aloe and algae extracts to produce miracle-like hair
rejuvenation.” Sounds pretty amazing, right?
However, I have used this product now once a week for 5
weeks, and have unfortunately not noticed any remarkable changes to my untameable
locks, but the product does have many pros.
-
The smell is amazing. It isn’t overpowering but
it very noticeable. It got to the point where my mum was asking me what perfume
I was wearing, when I didn’t have any on.
-
The effects (which only seem to last for a day)
left my hair feeling very soft and for those 24 hours after application my
split ends seemed to disappear.
-
Compared to high street hair masks, you can tell
this product is healthier for your hair, as high street masks tend to use more
synthetic ingredients which can often do more damage than good, whereas the Macadamia
Oil one contains mostly natural ingredients.
I think I would recommend this product to those who have mildly
manageable hair, maybe hair that is quite thin, as I’m sure they would be able
to feel the full effects of this product, the proclaimed “miracle-like hair
rejuvenation”. I am still unsure as to whether I’d repurchase this product, but
if I did, it would be in a TKMaxx store for £19.99, and not online for the RRP.
