Update & Introduction!

Hello!

So I've realised this blog doesn't yet have a proper introduction, so I thought I might as well introduce it here. My name is Julia and for years I have adored watching beauty gurus on YouTube and reading their blogs to find the best new products around and to gain advice on the application of make up. I have a huge interest in beauty brands and feel I now know just enough to be able to review and enlighten others on certain products.

My blog has recently had a name change to "HighstreetSweetHighstreet" as I'm going to mention mainly drugstore/highstreet products rather than high end products. This is because I am hoping to study at university next year, and this year I am determined to save as much money as possible for it, whilst partaking in voluntary work, which means I do not have enough left over to spend extortionate amounts of money on high end brands. Also, I know a lot of people are in the same situation as me or are currently studying, and I'd rather find the best of the highstreet and review the products so that others can save money and get trustworthy recommendations! Occasionally, I will write about and review high-end products, but only if I deem them worth the investment.

Starting with the morning, as I tend to not wear foundation in the daytime, but need other products such as my concealer to blend onto my skin nicely, I make sure I always use a moisturiser with an SPF of at least 30, regardless of the time of year. This is important when using the Alpha H Liquid Gold, as the active ingredients make skin much more sensitive to any rays and more likely to contract sunburn. The moisturiser I opt for is Elizabeth Arden's Flawless Future Moisture Cream which I find very lightweight and soothing on the skin. REVIEW! Mane N Tail The Original Shampoo and Conditioner

  As I tend to rave to everyone and their dog about this line of haircare I thought I would compile my thoughts in a blog post (after two years of no posting – oops!).  I first heard about Mane N Tail from Cosmetics Charlotte on YouTube (Now called CharlottesChance). I immediately ordered the “original” shampoo and conditioner from Amazon to see the results for myself.   From the first wash I was hooked; my hair has never felt so soft and manageable; my unruly curly hair became much easier to style, whether I left it to dry naturally or used a hairdryer. I try to make sure that I don’t use them more than once a week as I am worried that my hair will get used to them and I often take breaks between repurchasing them as I know once I use it in my hair again, I will feel the effects more intensely.
